CEO Victor Dodig sends note to employees after sexual harassment lawsuit comes to light.
The chief executive of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce says the bank will not tolerate sexual harassment in its workplace, following an allegation of harassment and bullying on the company’s trading floor.
Victor Dodig said in a memo to employees Wednesday the bank has been working to make its culture more transparent in the past year and a half and that harassment, discrimination and bullying, are not acceptable at the bank.
The note is in response to the publicity surrounding a lawsuit filed by a former employee, alleging sexual harassment, sexual assault and wrongful dismissal. The suit came to light this week.
