The BBC has hit back over claims an advert it placed for a researcher to work on current affairs programme Panorama, which was open only to BAME (Black, Asian & Minority Ethic) applicants, was “absolute discrimination and simply abhorrent”.

Yesterday’s Daily Express reports the BBC posted a recruitment advert for a paid internship role researching for Panorama open only available to UK nationals from a black, Asian or non-white ethnic minority with a bursary of £20k.

Antonia Stuart, who is campaigning to eliminate discrimination in job advertisements in Britain, told the paper the advert was “absolute discrimination and simply abhorrent”, adding the role should be open to everyone regardless of race, age or sex or social status.
