LGBT students worry about their rights under in President Trump’s America.
Trump announced Feb. 22 that his administration would soon reverse transgender bathroom policies put in place by President Obama in 2016 that require public schools to let transgender students use restrooms and locker rooms “consistent with their gender identity.”
Thirteen states opposed the action, which led to a nationwide halt on the mandate. And according to White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, Trump thinks this issue should be handled on by states, not by the federal government, USA TODAY reports.
And while Trump has only held in office for a little over a month, this isn’t his first attempt to alter LGBT rights.
