The Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission in Australia has just released its updated Trans and Gender Diverse Inclusion in Sport guidelines.
It released the guidelines in the lead up to the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOBiT) on May 17
The guidelines will help sporting clubs and organisations tackle and prevent discrimination of trans and gender diverse people. They will also create an inclusive sporting environment for everyone.
‘Sport is an important part of our culture and can provide huge benefits to people’s health and happiness, as well as that of our communities. It’s vital that sport is accessible to everyone,’ said Kristen Hilton, Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commissioner.
