A university student from Sudbury is calling for changes to the way Canadians learn about Indigenous history.

Melanie-Rose Frappier was chosen to be a participant in the most recent leg of Canada C3, a 150-day expedition that runs travels to Canada's three coasts to help celebrate the nation's 150th anniversary of confederation.

The experience gave Frappier, a 20-year-old Métis Anishinaabe, an understanding of how little Canadians are taught about Indigenous culture and history.
