Deloitte, which recently announced it was eliminating employee groups focused on women and minorities, explained Thursday that it is was taking "bold steps to innovate our workplace for the next generation."
The new diversity approach, while ending the firm's 24-year-old women's initiative, will feature "inclusion councils" that encompass employees of all backgrounds.
"But this does not mean leaving behind elements that continue to strengthen our diverse and inclusive culture, including our deep focus on women’s advancement which started with our women’s initiative back in 1993," Deloitte spokesperson Jonathan Gandal told me.
