Touted as a Canadian-first, the Trans Workforce job fair debuted in Toronto on Monday. Organizers say the job fair was a necessary step toward bridging the gap to improve diversity in the workplace.
The job fair’s founder Biko Beauttah said she created the it to help those who may be having a hard time finding work.
“I asked myself what’s wrong,” she said. “I’m educated nine years post secondary education [and] through my own lived experience I had so much trouble finding work.”
